Poor aching body!

Haven't been on for a while, my lovely mum-in-law had been in failing health for sometime and in January she got septicemia and the infection damaged her heart, she spent most of the next 7 months in hospital finally succumbing after getting a chest infection, on July 20th.

The last few weeks have been so exhausting, funeral arrangement, packing up the house, sorting though the possessions of 86 years. The house went on the market on Friday and we have a viewer today so yesterday was spent moving packing boxes from there to our house, journies to the skips and charity shops, dusting and hoovering and generally making the house presentable. (Although it's got the big furniture in it feels so empty and sounds so hollow now :( and so many happy memories in every inch of it) As you cab imagine I ache from tip to toe, my lower spine is making mt hips ache and my body is heavy and tired. Just got to wash the 2 big lino floors and hoover the hall now and all will be ready for the viewer this afternoon. Wish us luck that she will love the house as much as we do.

Carol

Oh what a lot to go thru! Mind yourself after all that stress what a sad occasion. Myself and my hubby both in our 50 s have both mums alive and his dad, so we have all this ahead of us I dread it.

Try to take a little break when things settle down, as you know bereavement can cause a flare.

Good luck today, Gina.

Carol, sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I got on very well with mine she was lovely. When you have finished cleaning go home and run yourself a hot bath and have a nice long soak. Its no good me telling you to get someone to help you as i know it is something you feel you need to do. So when its over then rest my friend.

Sending you cyber hugs. Love sylvi.xx

Oh you poor thing, that's all so exhausting mentally and physically. But amazed at how much you're achieved in such a short time. My father in law died in January (95, and still at home, so pretty much as good as it could be) and it's taken me loads longer to get things sorted although house sale should complete in 2 weeks now. And our flat is now crammed full of boxes and bits of extra furniture which doesn't help. I finally said that we needed to get in somebody to help clean, as I have a useless sister in law who can't clean (seriously! I asked her to do the bathroom before the funeral as we were having people back after, and 3 hours later it was dirtier than when she started) and my OH is v busy at work. So do look after yourself, and also take the time to enjoy the happy memories as you sort through things. We've had some nice afternoons sharing our recollections. Pollyx

Off for my soak now, got everything done, stored the left over bits and pieces in one of the cupboards but am really pissed off now, the girl who was viewing has decided to take up an offer of a last minute trip to Spain and so won't be coming to view til next week now grrrrr

All that rushing and stressing for nothing! Oh well I suppose at least it's done and I'll only have to run a duster around next week and if anyone else wants to view it's all ready for the estate agent just to go. Really annoying though-could do with jetting somewhere warm with a pool myself :) Thanks for your comments xx
