Does anyone have Raynaud's? I was diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis just days ago but the consultant thinks I have something else too.

She said that the Raynaud's suggests I have an additional connective tissue disorder but I keep reading that Raynaud's can be caused by inflammatory arthritis including RA.

There is a connective tissue disorder called sclerodema could be this?. there is a Raynauds health unlocked site too!

Welcome Naomi xx

Ah, Summer has beaten me to it!

Yes, please excuse us at HealthUnlocked for dipping into your site briefly, but if you'd like to ask questions or share experiences with other Raynaud's and scleroderma society then there is this: raynauds.healthunlocked.com/ run with the Raynaud's and Scleroderma Association under the watchful eye of the lovely Fiona at RSA.

You can also visit their own website at raynauds.org.uk/.

Regards,

Katie

Thank you so much for answering. I will try the link.

Hi Naomi,

I've got Raynauds along with RA and FIBro - I think you'll find that quite a few people on here do:-}

Thanks CeCe. That's helpful. My consultant said that the Raynaud's didn't really fit with my diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis but you confirm what I have read elsewhere which is that Raynaud's can be associated with IA. Maybe what she meant was that she suspected a second condition was causing my Raynaud's. I know she is still doing tests. I have never had an illness before which was so hard to name and diagnose but am starting to realise that this difficulty is common with autoimmune conditions as they manifest in such diverse ways.

Hi Naomi

I have Raynauds & RA too - it seems to be that there can be autoimmune disease present with several diagnoses running alongside each other. Hope you get clear answers soon.

Me too, I have RA , OA , Reynauds, Sjorgrens , all these are auto immune conditions , its getting to the points where I daren't go to the Drs as they keep finding more things for me to have ha ha , the point is really that when our immune system is working against us , it causes all sorts of different connected conditions , but fear is our greatest enemy -- here is where we find that we are not alone in having these conditions and lots of answers are here for us. xx

Hi I have ra and digital vasculitis - they thought raynauds at first as similar symptoms - in fact all started with the purple fingers and progressed from there!

Hope you get a proper diagnosis - it took a few months with me. All the best xx

Thanks for the replies. They are really helpful. Katy can you tell me the difference between digital vasculitis and Raynaud's. I don't get purple fingers. Mine just go white as a sheet and numb. It lasts for a few minutes then goes away. I get it when either my hands or my whole body get chilled.
