Rocking all round the garden........

Morning all,i hope you all slept well. I was down here at about 1.30am. I fell asleep by about 10am and slept well until midnight. I then tried to get back to sleep without success, so i came down here. I have since had 3hrs sleep. My ra was really giving me hell during the night, this is getting past a joke now. My hands are very sore and my knees both was giving me stick.

I had my rocking chair out in the garden yesterday and as the sun moved so the chair moved. I ended sitting in it out the front of the house. I have got a lovely tan to show for it.

I will post a photo of me in my rocking chair. The chair looks good, the less said about me the better............

Hi Sylvi, I was sitting out in my garden at 4 oclock this morning and it was great. Bit dark and just one bird giving an occassional tweet. It wasn't quite silent as I could hear cars on a nearby bypass racing along, but it is in the distance thankfully. (We live on a small estate out in the Kent countryside).

I was sitting out in the garden because I had woken up with the pain of turning over (I'm not moaning as I know you would be grateful for just that amount of pain) then I needed to go to the loo, (..... obviously), then the dog needed to go out in the garden (... obviously) but it was a nice temperature to sit out in for 10 minutes and I'm glad I didn't miss it. I've always loved the quiet of the early morning in the summer months. Sitting out there I wasn't in any pain, thankfully, it was only painful getting there and back. Then I went back to bed and slept until abou 7.30 so that was good as well.

Glad we are getting some good weather at last, seems strange to be looking to sit in the shade instead of in my shed to keep warm (and dry).

Hi Sylvie,

Lovely pic, that tan! how goes it with MTX? I only sat out for 30 minutes and burnt, I never burn, I love the sun, I never normally use sun block (the more sun the merrier)but had used factor 30; and this is England and the only sun we've had, now I am getting annoyed, another pleasure stolen.

Sorry for the 'woe is me'

I really hope that the relaxation and the sun do you good and your pain ceases some time soon.

Have just taken fruit and nut flap jacks out of the oven, the washing is finished and needs the line, and the feather pillows are waiting to be foot washed and rinsed in the bath, not a bad start to Monday Morning, My money stops at the end of this week, so job searching as well, haven't heard for DLA yet, but I guess when I do that will be when the worry starts.

Have taken my 3rd week dose of MTX this morning, painfree today, a bit tired now but thats expected, just hope the sickness tomorrow + + won't last, then I might Praise MTX.

Enjoy what you can today, think nice thoughts, don't have to encourage that though as you are so encouraging to us all.

Many Blessings Carol

Morning carol, judi, I am on a low dose of MTX and since i have been on and off it since xmas i feel it is not working as well as it did before the chest infection. My breathing is still not very good. I know i am very overweight and that could be some of it,but though i was heavy before xmas i didn't have the breathing problem that i have now.

I like the early morning in the garden, but i don't think 1.30.am is a tad bit too early for me. We do have a breeze here in sunny bulkington. Hubby has got got my chair outside for me and he has gone down the alottment for a couple of hours.

Also my stairlift croaked on me this morning and we are waiting for a phone call from the engineer to call back. I just wonder what else is going to happen to me. What with the ra playing me up and my knee still in recovery, i'm thinking what next.

I think i will get outside and try and rest and get my head round these aches and pains i'm having.

Have a lovely day. love sylvi.xxx

Lovely pic Sylvi but I think I've cricked my neck trying to have a proper look! Loving the rocking chair, it looks soooo comfortable. I hope you can get your meds sorted now that your op is out of the way as it can't be easy for you being in so much pain all of the time but it's good to see you soaking up the sun though as this at least can lift your spirits.

Paula,i didn't intend!! you to put your neck out. Sorry. i rang my rheumy nurse this morning and she told me my inflamation markers were up. She told me they should be below 11 and mine were 19. She has got me in to see her on wednesday morning so hopefully i will start to pick up after that i hope. My breathing is not helping either as it is so laboured. I know i am very overwweight, but i was not too bad until xmas when i got the chest infection, now it has not been right since and i'm onky on a small dose of mtx.

I love my rocking chair very much and yes it is very comfortable, but i dare not go to sleep out there or i will suffer from sunburn and i don't want that to add to my woes. If the heat had come in gently instead of bang just like that i would be happier.

How are you keeping now? Sylvi. xxx

I have asthma Sylvi and I know whenever I've had a chest infection it can take months to get over it but yours really should be improving by now. I agree that weight does play apart as I know my breathing has improved since dropping a few stone but is the GP looking into it? I got lots of sun yesterday too Sylvi sitting on my lovely swing which has hardly been out from under it's cover this year. Now normally when people ask how I am I smile and say "fine" but on this occasion I'll be honest. I've been feeling a bit out of sorts but in a can't put my finger on it kind of way. I went to bed at 7.30 Friday because I was so exhausted and haven't been swimming in a couple of weeks. I had cold sores or spots in my nose and on lip on off for a couple of weeks and I've just looked in my throat and my tonsil looks a bit yuk now :-( Sorry you asked now I bet! My folic acid was increased last week after a call to the nurse and I see her next Friday for my 6wkly checkup. The pain is brilliant compared to pre mtx but everything is grumbling on and off. All in all I'm much better than this time last year lol x

I don't regret asking you how you were,i also have asthma and to be honest i feel like a old bag of bones. I have cried quite a lot today and it comes from nowhere. I have come indoors for the moment to try and cool off. I have the fan near me as well.

Well the man came to have a look at my stairlift. Guess what the motor has gone,so now i'm without the lift until wednesday morning. Its all happening on wednesday,i get our new car,see the rheumy and now the man is coming to repair the lift. Everything seems to be against me at the moment.

Take care love sylvi.xx

in reply to sylvi

Oh no not another motor problem, what are you doing to them? Just think after Wednesday things will look a lot better :-) It's awful to think of you having a cry so I really really hope things improve for you soon. Big hugs to you.

HI Sylvie,

It looks so lovely in your garden! We have clouds overhead but when I drove to the hospital it was sunny a couple of miles down the road so hope it comes here soon! Enjoy the relax, the heat helps my joints and cant wait for Corfu next week, although just had my Humira and a throat infection and haven't thought about packing yet!! AAxx

sylvi in reply to allanah

I don't envy you then, hubby did all the packing this year. It felt so strange not being organised weeks in advance like i usually am.

I hope you have a lovely holiday. love sylvi.xxx

Hi Sylvi,

You look really comfy on your chair, shame you aren't sleeping well though, not much fun being tired all the time.

Hopefully your breathing will improve, not something I have experienced but it must be horrid being short of breath.

Keep enjoying the sun while it lasts.

Hi Sylvi, just spotted your piccy, glad i hinted now, it looks stylish and comfy.Hope there are loads more sunny days ahead so you can enjoy it and get a tan at the same time,it could end up as a family heirloom.Hopefully by thurs. your s/lift will be fixed your nurse app. was helpful and you are out enjoying your new car.

You were off MTX for quite a while so may take a while to kick in again ,can't remember what dose you are on,perhaps a little increase might be needed .My knees are the first to complain when i have to come off it ,hoping to be back on it at the w/end now the shingles rash is fading yay!!!

Such a nuisance when things break down and it's always the ones we use and need the most,my microwave went kapput on sunday so ordered a new one which should arrive tomorrow or i''ll be on the phone !!!

Do hope you manage to get some sleep tonight ,can you manage the stairs without the lift ? hope so i feel guilty now mentioning a micro. :/

Take care Beth xxx :)

sylvi profile image
sylvi in reply to beth48

Why do you feel guilty about a broken microwave, don't worry bout it. I now have my rocker out the front as thats where the sun is. If my family get rid of it i will have to come back and haunt them lol.

i am 5mg of mtx so i'm sure it will be upped at some point, but i don't feel like it is having any effect this time like it was when i was injecting it.

Wednesday will be busy, grace is off so she will be here for thr s/lift man, then its off to the hospital to get me sorted out then to get our car,i'm hoping if i'm not too bad to be able to drive it that short distance home and hubby can follow in our other car. We'll see how i am on the day.

Love sylvi.xx

Oh wow Sylvi, didn't know you are hoping to drive back, will it be the first since your op? what an achievement !! 5mg is a low dose and didn't realize you are back to tablets .Note to self { get memory in gear } lol

Do hope you are well enough to drive i will be very happy for you :))

I hoping.but i doubt if i will be allowed as i am in the middle of a big flare,i can dream though can't i. After going to the hospital beforehand i don't think i'll be fit for anything, but if i am able i would like to try.

After the op i had to start afresh with the mtx so tablets it was,but the way i'm feeling they don't feel like they are working.

I will have a nice coolish bath and i will then go to bed. sylvi.xxx
