i had breathlessness rockpool for a few days after i took metx but didn't have headaches. I was taken off metx and sent for a lung test which came back clear but they didn't put me back on metx again I wish they would. Can you ring the rheummy nurse.

Sorry rockpool wasn't on for awhile but i see polly below has given a good reply. It wouldn't do any harm to ring the nurse just to set your mind at rest

I know I was really embarrassed the other day - the receptionist knows my name. I have started to sneak over to the automated sign in to avoid her.

better safe than sorry, especially as it's the first few weeks so good to raise it with your surgery. but don't panic as could also be nothing. I felt dire for the first 2 -3 months on MTX, pounding headaches, sick and exhausted, etc. And then one day it all went away, along with the pain and swelling.....Pollyx

Hi Polly..thank you feel like I am always asking questions lol...it is so daunting..almost like..yes you have RA...take these drugs and you'll be fine..nothing about all the stuff that goes along with the drugs. :/ fingers crossed I will be like you and and it goes away quick. take care xxxx

I also had headaches that lasted for about. 6 days out of 7. So was advised to stop metho tablets. Due to start metho injectionss soon.

Horrendous headaches not a nice place to be. Keep drinking plenty of water that did seen to help me

Good luck

Carole.

Hi Rockpool - I don't know if this will console you but the foul sickness I have suffered for a month since my dose of MTX was raised has gone away now and I only have 2-3 days of intense tiredness after taking it still - plus the mood swings that I've always had since I started the MTX. I think the side effects come and go and change too as our bodies aclimatise to this powerful drug. But on the plus side I'm on Hydroxy and MTX (where did the ONLY come from I think two is plenty to be going on with for now!?) and it took a while to have the Hydroxy added in for me so I'm quite happy to be on 2 DMARDs at last. Lots of people here are only on one and it takes ages to get a second one added in.

These two seem to be working very well in terms of the RA and I have very little pain just now but it has taken 8 months of intermittent flaring and agro to get to this point. I'm enjoying it a lot and very appreciative! The side effects do take the edge off don't they - but persevere and hopefully it will settle down for you too. Tilda xx
