I think you've just given up smoking haven't you? When I gave up I had all sorts of stange sensations in the first few weeks, including racing heart beats and palpitations. Nicotine has all sorts of pwerful effects that you get used to when you're a smoker, and taking it away does have side effects. So personally I wouldn't worry too much but you could always ask your GP just to be on the safe side if it carries on.

I think it's more likely to be a response to changing nicotine level over past week that the RA drugs. Polly

hi, i take MTX (By injection) and Hydroxychloroquine, and yes I get odd palpitation like things...but then I know healthy friends who don't take any meds, and they get the same. Although, I can confidently say it happens more to me now than before I was on MTX.

I seeing my GP today as I have a chest infection and sinusitis so might ask.....I'll get back to you if they say anything valid!!!

i asked my GP and he listened to my heart...normal hearts sounds....he suggested if there was any pain or if it happened more frequently I might need an ecg or 24 hour tape....I am not too worried about this, but thats just me....I will monitor it and mention it to my consultant rheumatologist too when I see him next. hope this helps
