ill health retirement

Hi has anyone filled in a nhs ill health retirement form and where you fill in part B which talks about your jobs there is a section saying "any other information you think is relevant to support your application. Does anyone know what you should fill in there, considering they will get my medical records anyway? Axx

I wrote how my condition stopped me doing tasks relevant to job eg using syringes lack of grip etc .I got it eventually so I think it was right.

Thank you so much, it was just after answering about my previous jobs and the doctor already saying what was wrong I was not sure!! Thanks Axx

Hi Chrispe, thanks for that again.

Ive just had the meeting saying i should retire and waiting on the "dismissal" meeting, but they said obviously it will be nice cos its on ill health grounds. Now filled in the retirement application and used some of the stuff from my dla application on things i find difficult therefore couldn't do at work. Thanks again, i was stressed out with forms and leaving work!!! I'll let u know if i get it!! Axx

Hi Allanah, i may be following in your foot steps soon, are you with the RCN- have you asked for their help/ advice? Some of their fact sheets on line are good but im struggling to understand the rules about taking up any alternative work. Ive started just doing a few hours phone triage for gpooh service and am probably going to get set up to do from home- maybe with your experience its something you could think about ? I think it will take a lot of getting used to moving from demanding job to nothing. Good luck with it all, x
