I was told to stop the supplements I was taking when I was prescribed MTX last year. I feel that I should be taking some sort of multi-vitamin now and wondered if anyone has any recommendations which do not intefere with my medication (currently MTX and Hydroxychloroquine).
Need something that will help with the chronic tiredness.

Centrium 50, I take sometimes and am on that medication. probably calcium & vit D too, check with your doc, especially iron, you may or may not need iron.
It's much better to get your vitamins from a good mixed diet.
It's tempting to think that taking more will help with the tiredness, but unless you have a specific lack of something, it's not likely to help - sorry..that's sounds really negative, but you can get interactions between MTX and some vitamins, so best to be cautious and ask a pharmacist.
Recently the rheumy consultant advised me to reduce the Vit D & calcium (to prevent osteoporosis) because of links with increased risk of heart attacks...you can't win!
Hi. I always try to take my Vit D capsules. There is some research that points to higher rates of some autoimmune diseases being more common in northern climates where there is insufficient sunlight which normally provides Vit D.
And my Consultant has said that Calcium and Vit D are useful because RA is a risk factor for Osteoporosis.(Oldtimer, you have just made me panic!)
Then there's Folic Acid which MTX depletes.
And I am on Sulfasalazine, which causes anaemia!
And I have Sjogren's Syndrome which is helped by eating fish or taking fish oil capsules.
I would love to rely on healthy eating to give me all my vitamins. And I do try. But an occasional multi-vitamin (like Centrium) can't do any harm and may help.
