Thank you, one week of prednisone left then blood work to see how I am doing🌈

Hi there, a miracle it sure is :) although once my course was tapered down then stopped all flared again. Asked for another course until hopefully my biologic kicks in soon.

Hope they help you out soon. For me it is just wonderful to be able to pull up my own trousers again so hard with just one hand. Best of luck 🍀

l call it a miracle drug too. Just started my second ever course- first one was when my RA first started very suddenly 7 years ago. Then I took it for about 6 months until mtx kicked in. Have been in a flare for a month now after starting Leflunomide which is not working and at my consultant appointment on Friday we agreed I would start on a biologic asap. I leapt (though not literally!) at the chance to have a short course of prednisone in the meantime.

I never thought I would be grateful for more drugs. But the joy of pulling your jumper down is such a delight one handed is so difficult. Hopefully I won’t have to walk around half dressed now!🍀

So what next? So that you don't get it again.

Consultant has upped my sulfasalazine to two tablets a day to go with baricitinib. Blood test back to every three months for the next three sessions. So fingers crossed - if I could ❤️

I hope the increase in SSZ helps to keep the inflammation at bay. Your hand still looks puffy to me but if you’re able to use it now it sounds like the prednisone has helped to resolve it a bit. Still hoping it doesn’t come back after you stop the pred 🤞for you.

Thank you! Have been watching it like a hawk. Now I have wrinkly skin where it stretches-you can’t win 🏆

I wish someone could make it more palatable, I take one every morning and the taste is horrible. Glad it has helped your hand

I know it seems the “miracle”‘ drug short term yes but if you land up on it long term like I have had to be there are some serious consequences too. Try not to get hooked on its power!
