Has anyone tried tart cherry juice for inflammation? If so, did it help or not?
Tart cherry juice : Has anyone tried tart cherry juice... - NRAS
Tart cherry juice
You can easily be inundated with people saying take this supplement, eat nothing but green vegetables etc etc. It can drive you mad. There is very little proof that anything makes a significant difference for most people apart from a Mediterranean style healthy diet. Plants and lean protein, with very little fatty and sugary things.
(a few things have some limited evidence, like tumeric)
However every one is different and some things do work for some people. So if you like cherry juice then try it!
I like it, but it didn't make any difference to my joint pain. It contains all sorts of other things good for you, so if you like it, why not? Too much does give me indigestion though....
like many people, I tried everything. Tasted nice but did absolutely nothing. You won’t know unless you try though as maybe it could work for you 😊
There is no reputable evidence that any supplements help with inflammation. If there was an easy cure all I'm sure the NHS would be prescribing it rather than expensive medication. But no harm in trying , so long as you don't go over recommended daily intake.
Tumeric once been hailed as a great inflammitory reducer is now been shown to cause liver damage in high doses. Take care.
My brother has tart morello cherries each day. He has severe arthritis and says they help a bit.
Hi 1bozyact,
As many others have said, there isn't a one size fits all and diet is not rigorously proven to be effective in inflammation.
The article below goes into more detail about what we know so far about diet and RA:
