You have to usually register with The Independent to read their articles. Think it’s free but not sure.

A few of us on here joined Evusheld4theUK which is a campaigning Facebook group to get Evusheld on the NHS in the U.K. Have a look/join. There is also a website too for those who don’t like FB! The admins are excellent and all determined as are the members! I joined in when it started around June, and it’s been very helpful and informative.

The article was sent me by a friend and I started to register (it is free) to read it but gave up when I saw (yet another) password was required. But by chance I clicked the link again and for some reason could read the article without the rigmarole - perhaps worth trying for any future Independent articles.

I joined Evusheld4theUK on the recommendation of Lolabridge I think, or it may even have been your good self! I've written to my MP who got the stock reply from the minister concerned - which I didn't post on this site as we've all seen it before!

Glad you’ve joined the Evusheld4theUK FB. It first came to my attention in June when they just started the page and ImmunodeficiencyUK promoted and supported it on their FB page. That’s another very credible, good group. I am a member on there too as I have secondary immune deficiency/hypogammaglobulinemia/low antibodies due to the 8 years I was on Rtx and it’s still affecting me as only last year since I had an infusion. I had a good reply re Evusheld and the Government from my local MP and also the shadow health sec who has supported the immunosuppressed as she has RA herself. I then did a few links on here for the Evusheld group FB and seems a few people on this message board got interested, which is what it’s all about!

The Independent articles always crash when I try open them! 🤨

I'm sorry to hear about your hypogammaglobulinemia. The Rtx did nothing for my RA after 2 lots of infusions so I don't think I'll be having it again.

It would seem the campaign is having some effect with the Independent article and a whole 'Inside Health' on Radio 4 on the issue in the last couple of weeks or so. Though the medic on the radio programme did annoy me when he said that 'a few' other countries had funded Evusheld - I wouldn't call 32 'a few'!

Thank you. Sorry it didn’t work for you as it sent my RA packing soon after the duo of infusions in April 2014. Just all the side effects from hypogamma from 2014 onwards and still ongoing.

The campaigners have been doing some wonderful things and advertisements in several papers including a vigil at Westminster last week. There are some great medics and politicians on our side too but a shame some play it down and ignore. No, 32 isn’t a few countries. 🤨

Hi, there is some info/link on the Evusheld4theUK FB re obtaining it privately and although the admins give the link they won’t discuss it on their page. The admins are not wanting this to take over the current campaign. I’m just observing on there at the moment and don’t get involved other than a few comments of support. It was expensive for someone who’s done it from on there and was c.£2000 including an expensive consultation and administering it/pathology/testing and so far it’s not easy to get outside Harley Street and only being done in London I believe at present. I’m sure AZ will want it to be available in other cities/places. Shouldn’t have to come to this but totally understand those who want to do so. I’m waiting to see if I have antibodies to my booster but NHS tests aren’t quantitative. I’ll do my own now too. You could be told you have antibodies on some NHS tests but you won’t know if you’ve got 6 or 60 or 600 unless you do your own private test. So you could still be at risk if you’re just told yes, you’ve got antibodies. It could be just two more than a negative result which makes your Covid vaccine antibodies positive. 🤷‍♀️
