First the Good news ....

My toenail is finally clear of fungal infection so we went toAshford from the Benenden Hospital in a cheery mood. Had a nice'ish lunch and went to the loo. Washed hands and turned around and my handbag had vanished. Phone, Debit card, credit card I'd never used and lipstick. Clean tissues and all the usual junk had just gone. I never saw anyone swipe it but the effort now to cancel cards, phone replace others is awful. Worst thing though is that the photo's on my phone have gone and the pen my dad husband bought me when I got promoted to Revenues Manager. It doesn't even have much value but it was and still is, whoever has it is now, is a worn out purple.

So now tomorrow its insurance company as it was a good bag and phone but its the b----y nuisance and I'm a bit more than upset. Still at least my toe nail is ok and the laser worked. I'd laser the woman who got my bag or karma will but to be honest I even looked on the floor as didn't see anyone odd or behaving in any way suspicious.

Oh what rotten luck…as you say…..it’s the wretched inconvenience that is ongoing….…I hope your much loved pen leaks ink all over her best frock!

You won’t see these evil women who steal handbags …they have a large handbag with no bottom in it …..they just stand it on top of yours and off they go.

But look on the bright side…a new phone & a Ritzy new winter cross body handbag 👜 you don’t have to put down ….with the insurance money!

That's awful, what sw*nes these people are! Was there any CCTV at the place you had lunch which may have shown the loos?

Rotten people, not rotten luck. I hope the insurance company will be quick to help. Can't replace sentimental value items though.

you don’t mention telling the police but I assume you have as you’ll need a crime report number for insurance purposes.

Sorry to hear that your day was ruined - and today won’t e much fun either trying to organise everything. Good luck!

What a rotten experience ML. I understand what you mean by loosing the photos. If you use Google they may well be backed up and still available to you ?

Terrible thing to happen, we all know that horrible sick feeling when it does. I hope whoever stole it has karma coming to them.

oh what a terrible shame for you! So sorry to hear that! You would think that being in hospital was enough. Take care.

oh I’m sad to hear that you must be a bit mad about it too. As others have said you can’t replace some items but you’ll always have the memories of them. I’m a big believer that what goes around comes around though so Karma will hopefully give them what they deserve. Still what a pain in the bum and I’m sorry that happened to you.

Oh no, that is just awful. I’ll cross my fingers that whoever took it has removed your money and phone and thrown it away somewhere and it gets found and you get your pen back.

Big hugs to you and very nasty wishes to the lowlife who took your bag. 💐

Sorry to read this has happened to you ML. I’m a big believer in karma though, so shall imagine something rotten happening to this person in return!

Kharma isn’t consistent. Some of the most dishonest, evil people live long, lavish, lovely lives.

I agree Hisue, but in such situations I choose to believe that Karma gets them in their next life! 😉

Thank you all. I got a phone call yesterday afternoon a cleaner found my cards and phone and pen in a rubbish bin. Sadly no bag, but by then reported to police and insurance co, bank and all the rest. So back to insurance co as phone is fine and police said this is common as nowadays old phones like mine are not wanted and nearly all shops have CCTV so if used the thieves would be identifiable. So the value was the bag and purse. So I met the cleaner who saw a sparkle in a rubbish bin and looked closer(my phone has a case that is pink sparkles that move it hides an old Samsung). I was not allowed to give him a reward so we bought a gift voucher for him for the centre and his boss said he could take the envelope as they did not know what was in it despite selling me the voucher. But rules are rules. So there are some lovely people about and one named George is especially lovely.

🤬🤬 I’m sorry you don’t need the stress involved in sorting all this out . Why do people feel they can just take what’s not theirs. I don’t use a handbag now everything on my phone I need. I fear this will get worse as poverty increases.
