Does your dentist know you are on Retux? Tooth extraction, root filling dentist rang my Rheumatolgist for advice.

Do phone your rheumy or rheumy nurse, it depends what works you have to have carried out . I hope you can get it coordinated x

Hi

I was in the same position a few months ago.

It depends what you're having done , in my case I had to delay my Rituximab by a couple of weeks while I was patched up, it will be finished off next month, just over two months after my infusions. My dentist wasn't much use to be honest on what to do, but as I had a slight infection also it was no no of course for the Ritux.

I was told by my Rheumatologist what was the best thing to do, so maybe you can get hold of yours to check? It depends what you're in need of most also the dental work or the Rituxumab but for me one was delayed whilst the other was done..but not by long but that was my situation and of course always check with the experts!

Best wishes.

Hello. I’m glad you sorted your dental work out. The thing is my infusion was due on December 1, 2020. But it got postponed because I got diagnosed with Covid. I struggled with some symptoms for a while but I’m due for the infusion next week. MyRa is acting up. But my teeth also need urgent work too. Got to eat :))). I’m at a loss really.

Oh heck..what a dilemma I know how you feel, awful too for you delaying because of Covid. I hope you can get hold of your Rheumy team to check or even your dentist , the risk is infection after the dental work and as you know we can't have Rituxumab if we have an infection. I was only patched up so that I could have my infusion and will need to go back to have it finished. Catch 22 isn't it..good luck, I hope you get it sorted. 😊

Call your rheumatology team…to explain your dilemma……but bottom line you can have your infusion later…but once a tooth is gone…,it’s gone isn’t it.? But then I would fight tooth (!) & nail not to lose a tooth…..the thought of a denture freaks me out.

I had problems with my wisdom tooth after my first infusion, they would not let me have my second infusion. Had my wisdom tooth out about 6 weeks after my first infusion, by my dentist , my dentist knew about my Rituximab.

I would contact your rheumy team
