Hi cathirwin. I think the advice is to stop the MTX but make sure you check with your rheumatology team before doing so. I hope the covid is a mild dose and that you recover quickly. All the best. x

Thanks, due to take today so won't. My rheumatoid team never answer now, but used to be excellent. Will speak to my doctor too. So far it is like a bad cold. 🤧

I think rheumatology departments are overrun at the moment, I know they are at the hospital I go to. Good luck and I hope it doesn't get too bad. 🤞

I was advised to withhold the methotrexate last year until i was fully symptom free x

I was told not to until I was negative, by both my rheumatologist and GP. But please check with your medical team. I hope you're not too poorly 🙂

Hi there, I recently recovered from Covid and I had the same question. I went to my hospitals Rheumatology Dept website and they had the general advice to stop MTX for 1-2 weeks similar to if u had an infection and was on antibiotics. I could not manage a fully skipped dose as I started to flare, however, by that stage I was negative on LFTs. Have you had it confirmed with a PCR as you will be able to contact 111 or your GP to see if you are eligible for antivirals? You may have got a letter recently about it from ur Rheumatology Dept, I got mine a day ago. I hope that helps and if it’s the new variant, as I had been jabbed up, it wasn’t so bad and I’m also on biologics. So I hope you recover quickly… lots of rest, fluids and paracetamol helped me. Here is a useful extra link, good luck!

Thank you for the information it is very useful to know about the antivirals. I get my PCR today so will send it back straight away and await their call. Was really bad yesterday but a little better today. Was due my methotrexate yesterday and am already struggling to put my socks on. Fully jabbed and had the booster so hopefully I will be okay.

You NEED advice as MTX and Covid don’t mix from what I read! Please ask

Hope you are better very soon.
