More info in the link below, apologies if already posted. Not unsurprisingly the initial results present some questions and concerns for us.

Thank you. 💗 I’m meant to be offline this week, but lurking for Octave news still.

I was just reading one of the related items online from The Independent about Rituximab. Being on Rtx I know the issues surrounding it and from what Professor Innes said on the NRAS Zoom some months ago re Rtx and the vaccine efficacy, so it’s no surprise. We await further details from the Octave.

Having to reply to myself as I can’t edit my post! The findings in the article were for vasculitis patients on Rtx concerning it blunting the efficacy for those people. I’m sure we’ll get more specific news soon on RA and the meds we take. As the article said, the research is still ongoing.

Yes I hope for more detail too. The +50% participants with inflammatory arthritis having a sub- optimal response to vaccine was the bit that struck me. I wish we knew what level of antibodies would offer protection but this information just doesn’t seem available…

I don’t think we will know a threshold for some time yet.

The sub optimal response of 53% of people with inflammatory arthritis struck me too. No mention of those of us who take steroids alongside other RD meds either.

I'm finding the information being given to us conflicting, the preliminary results from long awaited OCTAVE study seem to be at odds to the advice given to me by my rheumatologist last week....she said normalise, get out and about.

I've ordered an antibody kit and will make my decisions on what I do and who I see based on whether I've developed any antibodies to the vaccine.

It is all so confusing.

The report does say that t cell response was the same in both groups. Could this be good news for you? I do hope so.

Thank you. Not sure but I’m having those tested soon. I had zero antibodies though after my Pfizer’s.

No real surprises, but I could weep for us all.
