Was it worth the pain? That's the question I ask myself. Sometimes the answer is Yes, bur mostly No. Which was it? Hope your hands settle quickly 😘

Oh no Dee 🙄. That looks very uncomfortable but it’s your body’s way of stopping you making it worse! X

What are we like? Are own worst enemies but you can't keep a good woman down. Rest up today and get some cold on those knuckles. I hope they reduce quickly.

What do you mean here? Is this kind of subcutaneous between knuckles normal in RA

Was referring to how different our hands are before dealing with arthritis in them.I have RA but also OA in my hands, so my hand symptoms vary.

I get what I call sausage fingers when RA is in a flare.

Also have no strength in them which is very frustrating.

No idea what causes yours but you seem to be well supported treatment wise.

Hope your knuckles smile back at you soon :)

Dear Deeb1764. Regarding your picture, it seems that you are swollen between the knuckles? As I am! But I thought that it was always teh knuckles themselves that swell and became read to? I am without diagnosis, but getting close to RA....

It can be between or all ove coverage just depends on the day and the body decideing things!

OK - I have been told that it is only the joints that swell but good to know that someone thinks different :)

Many things can be different to text book and this forum shows this so all pat of the process of learning plus I have OA and Fibro so this causes its own issues too

No krillemy it’s not just the joints, I have permanent swelling between my knuckles and no med has ever touched it, every rheumy has tried but I just live with it now.

Mine a like this too when knuckles swollen . I can get the entire hand just puff up .

Sorry - what do you mean exactly? I am Danish, so English is not my first language

in reply to krillemy

All the hand will swell can not see joints or knuckles. The swelling between the knuckles is synovial fluid caused by inflammation in the knuckles.

So the consultants or doctors might say this is what will happen BUT it does not mean the body does not do other things too. On this forum we all post things that show things are not always by the text book system of RA symptoms so its always worth asking on here and doing some good research with known places rather than Dr Google of Dread (my nickname for it). Hope this helps x
