Bone inflammation? I’m not sure as I have had it tested and don’t know how they do this. Unless it’s a scan. Sorry not to be of help.

No but it sounds as though it is painful.

Do you mean osteomyelitis a disease of the bone marrow?

osteitis pubis? Are you pregnant?

I'm not pregnant. The letter says osteitis, but not osteitis pubis.

It has been found so far in my elbow and hand, but I suspect its more widespread

That's very unhelpful in a letter - I would want to know what they meant, what the significance is and what they are intending to do.

They ordered a second mri to confirm it and if its confirmed they will bring my next appointment forward( its March 22 at present)and start me on sulphadazine. Was also going to ask if anyone here is on that

Sorry Donnabrain, but your messages are a bit confusing for us readers. You mention "sulphadazine" which doesn't seem to exist - although there is "sulphadiazine", and "sulphasalazine". Then too osteitis seems to be a disease of the pelvis, but you talk about your elbow and hand. Maybe the clerical staff have written things wrongly in your letter?Anyways, difficult to know how to respond when all is so unclear. Sorry.

Ah yes, the second, sulphalazine. But the letter definitely says osteitis, and my pelvis has not been looked at.

Previously was found in elbow and more recently right hand, but the reason they were looking at just one elbow is because I broke it.

I have had pain and swelling in both elbows for some years though.

My new rheumatologist decided to get an x ray of both hands and feet, as apparently that's where it can be seen most clearly.

After the x ray results were reviewed she ordered mri of both hands, and then after that just right hand mri repeat at a different frequency.

Letter states osteitis right hand and if confirmed by second mri will bring appointment forward and start sulphalazine.

I have pain in both hands

Hi donnabrain, well if you are talking sulphasalazine, then yes lots of folk on this site are taking that .nras.org.uk/resource/sulfas... will tell you some more about the drug (and also spells it correctly which I can't do!). Sorry but I have no knowledge of this particular drug myself. see also healthunlocked.com/nras/pos...
