Heat !!!

OMG … the heat is killing me.. it’s worse than yesterday 8 o’clock this morning I couldn’t find any comfort ( or shoes to fit) …. I’m not going to make it !!!!!!!!!! I know dramatic but I’m dreading work tomorrow……

I am feeling that way too. My knees, elbows, hands and ankles are so swollen. Not painful much but I look like a baby elephant. Four days left of term x

Oh I do feel for you. This heat is killing me too. I can’t fit my feet in anything at the moment. Hoping it settles by Thursday as I have blood tests. If not I’ll go with wrapping foam around my feet idea that you mentioned in another post yesterday. 🤣.

I have no wise words or suggestions I’m afraid but just wanted to respond to your post. x

I'm just do glad I'm retired now and can please myself what I do - or more to the point, don't do in this weather. I left the gardening I was going to do yesterday until the evening after 8pm, but ended up pouring so much sweat that I couldn't see what I was cutting. It will have to wait. I did work on the computer in the coolest room with the fan on during the day hiding away from the heat with a big mug of cold drink on the go.

I bought a really good scarf thing from a garden centre - I can’t remember what it was called but you wet it and squeeze it out a bit and it holds the cold when you put it round your neck that is really good. Regular ice cold drinks might help too.

Basin of cold water to put my feet in.

A couple of years ago we bought a cheap little fan thing from Tesco - think it was one of those JML gadgets you see advertised on TV - it has a retreat you put ice in and it blows cold air over you.

What about getting a special pair of larger than normal very comfortable shoes for summer?

You can tell I feel the heat too can’t you 😉

I’m still too hot though - then in the winter I’m always too cold. Husband says I don’t have a thermostat ☹️ He thinks he’s funny 🤣
