You must be getting, or going to get methotrexate from your rheumatoid clinic, they will explain all the do's and don'ts about taking MTX

Rheumy always too busy to explain unless I know what to ask. So I find it very important to read up myself.

Sounds like that you have got a crap team, it's there job to keep you on the straight and narrow about taking high powered drugs, the questions are simple to ask, what are the do's and don'ts about taking MTX and if they won't help report them. The hospital i go to have PALS i can use these for complaints without feeling compromised about my treatment, and believe me it really works, it's not our fault we have this complaint there are there to help, if they can't or won't help change hospitals, complain to your GP. Best of luck but don't let them grind you down, stick up for your rights.

The system here is very different from the system over there I think. Yes, I can complaint if they are no good. At the early stage, my rheumy did tell me how to take mtx but very sad to say that only when ask they will give more information. Therefore, I kind of use to look for more information online on my own and I also learn a lot from reading posting by all of you in the group. That will trickle more questions in mind to ask more indeed.

It's good resource Amy. Worth pointing out maybe that it's a US site so 1mg folic acid is common there whereas here in the UK where the majority of our members are we take 5mg. It's a salient point & one which was raised only this morning in another post.

My rheumy give me 2.5 mg of folic acid since day one. I guess they are also not very sure of what the best dose for each of us. However, my rheumy told me to skip folic acid on the day of mtx.
