heyy, i'm new here..

so i'm diagnosed with RA since i was 13 years old and now i'm 18, actually it's so hard for me to live with this pain in my joints you know, i have no one to talk to about it and it makes it even harder for me, so i searched and got NRAS recommending me this site to communicate with people who feel the same :)

I'm sure someone of a younger age than me will be along any minute to respond. Just wanted to say welcome and there are lots of people here who started at your sort of age. If you have any questions, suggestions or just want to have a moan, we're here.

Hello and welcome ❤️ I’m 38 now but was diagnosed in my 20s. We’re all here to listen and give you support - and we understand where you’re coming from.

Another site you might also like to check out is Arthur’s Place. It’s specifically for young adults with arthritis: arthursplace.co.uk

Hiya Halsey, welcome. You'll receive lots of support & help if you need it. We've experienced it all between us so not much shocks us! Some of us were diagnosed when young so will understand how you feel but we all know how it is to live with it whatever age so I hope you find it helpful being here. We even have a bit of a giggle from time to time. 😊

Hello Halsey 18, I have just started my meds for RA. It's been a long haul to get diagnosed, the hospital losing my test results and having to go through them again upset me a lot. I live alone with no family and lost my job last year. It's been tough and a neighbour telling me that 'God loves you' did not help, I lost it. The NRAS phone line has helped keep me sane, lovely people, and no doubt so will the community knowing we are not alone. I have 2 rescue cats who now realise something is wrong and at night they usually sleep next to me.

sorry to hear that, but we're here together and you'll never feel lonely.god loves you as he will always do so don't lose hope :)

everything gonna be just fine

❤️❤️❤️

Hello Halsey18, thank you for your reply, my rescue cats are lovely and help to keep me occupied. I am now starting to make some craft items to pass onto 2 charities I support so they can sell them and tell me what does sell. I'm also looking into doing a proofreading qualification. The company I'm seriously looking at have a section on finding work, charging etc and will put me on to their register of proofreader's if I achieve 80% or higher. Spoke to the Careers Service who whilst surprised, said it was a first for their office, think it's a good idea and the company checks out. As a trained typist I could do 60/70 wpm with the accuracy, sadly the arthritis which has affected my hands, feet and knees has stopped that so I can't type at home. I wish I could find a faith (am trying to find one) as no doubt it would help but some evil childhood experiences within my family and a Catholic priest put paid to that. There has to be something look at nature. I live within driving distance of a beautiful reservoir and when I couldn't visit due to Covid (and at the moment struggling to drive) look at it on the internet and take myself to several other places. Thank you for caring. Now one of the moggies has got onto my knee and needs combing😸👍
