Just had my PIP assessment appointment cancelled.

Appointment cancelled, haven’t slept properly all night. It was due at 9:00am today. I’ve just had a call at 9:25am to say that the assessor has taken ill, they’ve tried to get cover but have been unsuccessful. I have a new appointment for the 24th February. More stress and a few sleepless nights leading up to it... again! Anyone experienced this? I was fully understanding to the call operative as we are in difficult times but I made my application back in July/August( it’s been that long I can’t remember myself!).

Poor you, pip assessments are I feel an awful way of seeing what help people need. Maybe the assessor was concerned they had covid symptoms and it's just as well they called off if you are looking for a maybe positive. I hope you now get some rest and they dont keep you hanging on too long , hugs xx

Ahh I am sorry they have. Mine was cancelled... though without telling me ... I sat around for 2 hours and thought... I’ll call and ask what’s going on. The upside is that they backdate any award to when you applied. 😊

Good luck with yours. Main thing is to come at the questions from what your worst day is like. Don’t be brave and if you get down or upset make sure they know you’re finding it hard. Don’t hold back the frustration tears and so on. They don’t get it otherwise. 🍀

At least they had the courtesy to ring you.My phone appointments from hospital now come with a 3 hour window.

Aw that’s not good is it. I have been lucky and my assessor did call on the day. To be honest I was like you and was up all night worrying. I needn’t have worried though as she was really nice. Doesn’t mean I’ll be successful but after the call I asked myself why I wasted a nights sleep worrying. Good luck Hun and I hope it goes well for you and me 👍👍🤗

UPDATE: So I had my appointment today and despite being quite anxious it went well. Not saying that I’ll qualify for anything though! I was asked if I minded a trainee listening in which of course I didn’t. The call lasted for about an hour and a half and we went through the whole form. I was then able to give additional and updated information at the end. MonsieurPetitPois said afterwards, hearing me talk about my worst days to someone else really brought it home to him how even he doesn’t always appreciate my daily struggles. They said that it could take up to 8 weeks to get a response but it could be sooner 🙏🏼🤞🏼
