I bought this item at least about 17 years ago. I used to use it before I was diagnosed RA. After that it has been sleeping in one corner and I have forgotten all about it.

Saw it this morning and decided to add it into my daily exercises again!

Oh my goodness, I was really good at this when I was young and I loved using it. I wouldn't attempt it now as I think my SI joints would dislocate and I hate to think what else! 😁😁 Good luck Amy_Lee, I would love to be able to do it now. xx

Hi Springcross, it is very right to say that not everyone suitable to do this. Especially RA patients, you know your condition very well, if you have joints damaged issue, then may not be suitable.

In my case, I do not have any joint damage hence I can pick it up again. RA patients should not limit our abilities also, we can always try to see if we can do anything better than at the moment. Slowly, we may find something that we can progress from there.

I agree with you Amy_Lee, in fact I envy you being able to use it, I would love to be able to as it would certainly get the excess weight off of me that I have put on during lockdown. Good for you. xx

It is lockdown here also, but I continue my daily exercises to keep my body strong, healthy and flexible.

You cannot do this, it is perfectly okay at the moment. Do some other low impact exercises, which will also help you too. The consistency is the key actually, it is not so much on what kind of exercises one does. Of course, it will take a long time to see result actually.

Hi Amy I hope your well. I use to love using the hula hoop in school. Was so much fun. I've been doing my exercise in the morning now as I can manage now as before it was too painful to do without taking painkillers. Slowly I'm recovering week by week I can see. Little little things are becoming a bit easier to do. I'm just holding on to that hope and praying that like you I can get better soon. How is your foot and your hands. Any news from your Rhematologist about the swelling that had appeared. Any changes to it? Hope all is well.

Hi Zara, I am glad to know that your condition is improving each day. Yes, just give more time to the medicines to work on your body, I am sure you will be able to do what I do one day. However, you can start something easy and very low impact exercises first, slowly you can move up when your condition getting better. Though my condition is good now, I still continue my fingers exercises daily.

I remember when mtx started to work, I could feel it immediately as the pain reduced tremendously, so I knew I would be okay one day. True enough I am doing very well.

As for the swells on my hand and leg, they have disappeared now. My hand still has the red mark but no longer swell. The X-Ray supposed to be in Apr, the same day I see my rheumy, if no swell, I may skip the X-Ray. I do not know what is the best decision on this. If I proceed with the X-Ray, I think it makes no sense as I suppose to bring along the X-Ray to see my rheumy.

Hi Hessie, to upload what I can do now, I am with the intention to inspire other RA patients to see hope in future. Reading only negative posts daily will give very bad impact emotionally. At least some positive improvement will bring some light to other.

Slowly you will be able to get back to it. After my RA, I left it sleeping for so many years not knowing I could do it again. I was ok to get back on it and continue with it daily since. It helps to reduce my waist line though.
