Hi I have been on Benepali for six weeks now. Can anyone tell me if I should be classed as extremely vunerable and should I be isolating I haven’t received a letter to isolate. Thank you.
Benepali: Hi I have been on Benepali for six weeks now... - NRAS
Benepali
Hi Sharon, can you email your rheumatology so you know for sure, for you personally? So many conflicting tables out there. I’m on benepali and am CEV but have other issues. You can register yourself on govt site:gov.uk/coronavirus-shieldin...
There is a ‘not sure’ option on it so fine to do this anyway; I did at the start x
It’s very variable as also depends on age, and other conditions you have and your overall state of health. I am on the equivalent plus MTX and have never shielded and am not classed as particularly vulnerable now.
Speak to your own doctors who know your medical history.
I was told to isolate but then told no it was ok and I am on sulphazalizine and benepali
Thank you
Have a look at rheumatology.org.uk/Portals...
I am on a similar drug and have been told to shield. I was told that back last spring by my Rheumatology dept. So please speak with yours to get the right advice...I get letters to say I am clinically vulnerable..
I am on a biologic and have been informed I am since first lockdown. Its to do mainly with being on a drug that suppresses the immune system
Of course. You're immunosuppressed. Sometimes the letters are delayed. Tell your doctor, but you must self-isolate.
Only your rheumy team can give you personalised advice but saying that, when mine said that I was CEV and I challenged it, they admitted that they just put all the their patients on the list as they thought that it was quicker... I've made the personal decision to strictly social distance rather than self-isolate; I'm 60 and on DMARD triple therapy. We each need to do what's best for us - both physically and mentally.
