How do you cope with Meds day?

I have a day of lots of fluid, light meals and as much calm as I can find; a walk, a chat with friends or whatever... Generally, a be kind to myself day.

What do you do to make you feel ok on Meds day?

Gosh - what a thing to have on your weekly schedule. It would have been beyond my comprehension 20 years ago.

Enjoy your day, and whatever it brings, stay safe

Thank you. You too.

What a beautifull picture.

I take meds every day. If you mean methotrexate day. I take it very last thing at night and when I wake through the night I drink more than I usually do. I'm good at keeping well hydrated, but drink more the day of and after mtx. It's hit and miss if it helps. Don't know why some weeks I have more fatigue, nausia & headaches (Someone on here called it mtx hangover. Very good description I thought) and others I'm as if I haven't had it. Just grateful when I'm no different.

Interesting how the hangover varies from nought to pretty awful, isn't it.

I’m lucky and have got to a point where my MTX day is just a day in the week like the 6 others. My general water intake is higher through the week than it used to be. I split my MTX and take 1/2 in the morning and the other half in the evening (rheumy knows that I do this and I’m on 15mg in tablet form so easy to split the dose). I’m a ‘go to bed early’ kind of person any way so no change there and I take my meds on Fridays because Saturday is a lazy mooch in town day.... well used to be!!

All the best

Ali

Hi Brushwork. Lovely photo, especially with the reflection of the red sky on the water. Thanks for sharing that.

I usually inject MTX on a Saturday afternoon so I ensure I have plenty of water beforehand and after, also the next day.

I hope you are enjoying your day too. xx

What a nice post to come across. I enjoy a little sweet treat on my MTX day and give myself permission to take it easy. I use to take my MTX tablets on a Saturday evening giving myself Sunday to rest and relax. Starting the injections next week and the nurse is coming on Monday which is a working day. Hopefully I won’t get my usual MTX hangover with the injection. x

Every day is a meds day, treat each day as normal as possible.

Should have been more specific, I meant for those who medicate weekly rather than daily, usually with some after effects... :)
