Hi mistygrey

When I first got diagnosed with PsA it was Dr Boyle I saw. At that time he wasn't yet a consultant. He was very nice anytime I had dealings with him.

Following diagnosis, I always see Dr Bhat now who is also really nice.

Hi thanks for your reply. Was Dr Boyle strict with criteria you had to meet for diagnosis of Psa? Why did you then go to Dr Bhat is it because Dr Boyle wasn’t yet a proper consultant? I think he is fully fledged now as far as I can see ☺️ I need a rheumy who is open minded so if he is strict on criteria’s for diagnosis and treatment then he may not be suitable for me

Yes, I was moved over to Dr Bhat as he wasn't yet a consultant at that point however, he did all the tests etc & confirmed diagnosis.

Prior to seeing him, by blood tests had been relatively normal & I was diagnosed following MRI scans which showed inflammation & bone erosions. He got me started on treatment immediately & have been seeing Dr Bhat since then. It took a number of years to find a treatment that was of benefit to me but I am managing reasonably well now I have found a biologic that is working.

I found him to be a very caring & understanding doctor who certainly listened to me.

Hope you get on OK x

I currently have Dr Boyle. Recently I have needed to change my treatment and although he has now made changes and I am extremely grateful to him for this, I had to push to get this to happen. I found the approach quite reactive rather than proactive and preventative. I didn’t seem to meet the “classic” symptoms and criteria he was looking for - despite my pain significantly increasing and my quality of life really decreasing. Feel free to DM me if you need more info.
