Hi, I take 25mg of methotrexate a week. I have been in so much pain recently with flare ups. Anyone got any suggestions of what I can do to help this? Have emailed rheumatologist but awaiting response. Thanks

Hi,

You’ve done the first thing by getting hold of rheumy dept 🙃

Rest is important but with a young family that will be hard so try and get an extra slot somewhere in your day where you can ‘just be’ and not have to hold conversations etc - maybe a warm bath slot where its agreed no one interrupts for anything, or you and a cuppa in a quiet comfortable space where you can close your eyes and breath for a short while.

Then there are things like have you had your VitD tested as this can be very low which has an effect. Do you take turmeric supplements as this can help keeping inflammation dampened down - doesn’t work for everyone though so go with what feels right for you.

All the best

Agree with Ali, and keep pushing to get in contact with your rheumy team as may need meds reviewed.

Thank you for your replies, I heard back today and was told to get a blood test so now waiting for the results. I work full time so I do try to rest as much as possible at the weekend. Thank you again
