Good you will see your Rheumatologist soon, and get proper advice. RA attacking wrist joints and hand joints is the likely cause, if you are aware of pain, swelling and redness in those areas. Good luck with finding out.
Sometimes when you are in a flare the inflammation means there’s swelling in a joint (eg wrist/carpel tunnel, elbow, or shoulder) which presses on nerves and makes things tingle further down the line, and restricts blood flow a tiny bit so fingers can feel colder. So if it’s that it goes away again once inflammation sorted.
Note down exactly where tingling is, so you can tell rheumy accurately amd then can work out what’s happening.
Oh the joys of RA. I have numbness and tingling in both hands and feet. My feet are the worst but mine are extremely hot to touch and inside. Told tingling and numbness is part of active disease. Nerves compressed by swelling. No harm ringing them just for confirmation even if you have an appointment soon .
I had numbness, tingling and coldness in my hand which coincided with my wrist being swollen so I think that it was connected.
Something to add to the list of questions for your rheumy - even if it's gone by then because it's bound to recur if you don't mention it!
Yip
Happens from time to time.
Same with feet.
Think it’s related to flare or when disease seems more active.
This is a patient perspective so not a clinical observation lol
Sorry you have a flare, they are unpleasant things. If you keep a journal of your symptoms, that will help you and your Rheumatology team a great deal at your appointment. The NHS and NRAS have developed an app with Ampersand "My Arthritis". IT's a very user friendly tool to record all your symptoms and more. Good luck with you appointment.
