Today i have invested in a book called ARTHRITIS The Allergy Connection by Dr John Mansfield ..

Got into reading it and its surprising what he says well worth the money

so starting from tomorrow im going to put into practise what he says ... lets see ...

Hi Essexgirl

This last week, whilst off work, I've been doing the elimination diet, recommended by a fellow blogger, from an excellent book called Diet and Arthritis by Dr Gail Darlington. I really believe that my RA is attributed to years of 'IBS type' problems, with subsequent increasing food intollerances resulting in my RA diagnosis last year. Unfortunately I've had to abondon it today, despite seeing some encouraging improvements over the last week, simply because the lack of food made me feel unwell and I was losing weight I could not afford to lose (6lbs in 4 days). It did confirm that citrus fruits and tea/coffee are an issue for me though, and I will continue to avoid those and see what happens!

Hi trish ... sorry to hear that its made you feel unwell

But it does actually say in the book that in the first week you will feel unwell becoz your not eating foods that your body is used to

and its a sort of detox

They say from then on you would feel the benefit

I will let you know how i get on .. fingers crossed lol

Interesting - I've had a lot of intolerance's for many years. I now do a gluten free diet which seems to help.

What else does the dr say?
