Sorry I don't live in the area to be able to offer any suggestions, but wanted to send my supportive wishes to you. I hope you find one as it is so important to feel you are supported and listened to. Some people are lucky and have a positive experience while others are not so. Take care

PS, If you find one can you send them here too!

I think finding such a person is the holy grail! I hope there is one, as I too will be queuing up for a consultation .

I really like my rheumy, Dr Martin Perry, based at the Royal Alexandra in Paisley , if that’s any help. I’ve always felt that I can have an actual conversation with him, and that he listens and responds well. Getting an appointment, as with all NHS rheumies, is another matter Though, and I don’t know if he does private work.

Thanks for your recommendations. It’s very hard to find an open minded rheumy who actually listens I’ve had a bad experience being dismissed and it wasn’t pleasant. So will look into the rheumys suggested thank you

I have been attending the clinic of Dr Elaine Morrison at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow since I was diagnosed 17 years ago. I can not recommend her highly enough. She listens to you and is always caring and helpful. I believe there is another Dr Morrison now in the same Rheumatology Clinic, who is fairly new, so make sure you request the right one if you decide to go ahead.

Good luck
