I hope someone is able to tell you Dee as it was something I was considering before this virus started and would be interested to hear too.

I have read up a lot on them and a lot makes sense I might start with a tea and build up!

No but ordinary Kefir from Sainsbury's was ok then found it half the price in the Polish Food chiller bit. Same stuff I thought it was ok but my oh hated it. Like sour runny yogurt. Didn't make any difference to me. Sorry.

Once I can get out again I think I will give it a try, thanks. Then if I don't like or take to it there's nothing lost.

Yes I have heard it is a tad tart¬

I make my own. I bought the culture on line, eBay I think, about 3 years or more. I buy organic whole milk, make a jar a day for 3 days and then store in a large kilner jar, again in whole milk. I only put on my breakfast in the morning with berries. It helps to keep my stomach settled from so many meds. X

I make my own kefir every day and have it in a smoothie with fruit for breakfast. I find that it’s rather sour tasting to drink on its own so the fruit helps to make it more palatable.

Shop bought kefir products are very expensive which is why I make it myself.

I use whole cows milk. I should think making it with goats milk would make it taste more sour.

It’s so easy and cheap to make your own. You just need to get a teaspoon of the grains to get you started. Instructions on how to make it are plentiful on the internet and YouTube.

thanks for this

I buy the Chuckling Goat one. It’s very potent. And fizzy. My best description of it is goats cheese champagne. Despite the awful smell and taste, I would recommend it. Definitely seems to help support the gut flora etc. Hope that helps! Xx

Thank you I have heard it can be pungent but add a bit of fruit and glug

I've tried kombucha which I liked but not tried kefir yet. My nutritionist recommended it for gut health.

I make my own kefir with grains I bought off eBay. It’s such a simple thing to make and full of good bacteria. Check out You tube. 🌈🌈🤗X

I love kefir, and eat it every day, but I make my own.

I have had chuckling goat products, I prefer the plain stuff to the sweetened or flavoured ones.

Kefir might be an acquired taste! It's sometimes more sour than standard plain yoghurts and people who are trying it for the first time are advised to build up from a small quantity.

It's full of probiotic bacteria, more so than yoghourt, and also contains yeasts - which yogurt doesn't.

If you're not keen on it neat, it makes DELICIOUS smoothies with passionfruit/orange/mango juice, banana and whole milk!

If you like it and want to start making it yourself - it's a commitment, you have to feed the grains every two or three days - DM me, and I'll send you some so you can start your own X

don't know that brand but OH finally tried some shop bought Polish kefir after my using it and recommending it for a YEAR... and after 3 days he cdn't believe the difference it made to his gut... and to his poo. so i've gained a little cred LOL. I take it to boost my system, with raspberries / blue berries and warer based porage. Love the stuff and now make it all the time... will suggest he makes some with goat milk too. worth a try, i reckon. x
