What good thing has happened today?

I'm tucked up in bed, with my cheeky cats next to me, trying to focus on the positives during this pretty grim time. Here's one - the amazing kindness and decency most people are exhibiting: Take two total strangers, who I've only spoken to on Facebook as part of our local mutual aid/neighbourhood groups - one went to pick up stuff in town for me, the other is ordering people whatever they need on her online delivery slot and dropping it round to them. My pharmacy delivered our prescriptions as we are self isolating, and even made a second trip the same day when they'd missed something. It's so good to be reminded that for every idiot having a lockdown-busting bbq with their mates, there are countless kind, helpful and generous people out there too. I hope you all have some positives in your lives too at this scary time.

It's so good to hear, someone I have only ever spoke to on FB through our wee community group has offered to collect shopping for me too. Quite humbling.

That’s wonderful. I was shown some kindnesses today too. I had several people phone for a chat and to make sure I’m ok and two friends dropped by to offer to shop for me. Such welcome and unexpected thoughtfulness was very much appreciated as I live alone and am “shielding.”

I'm the same and it's hard, so it's good and so important to have contact. It makes it all the more special when people are so kind and thoughtful. Keep strong and keep safe, take care x

Oh, my partner of 20 years (we don't live together) brought me some of my favourite scones (12 to be exact!), left them on my doorstep and sat out in my garden chatting to me, whilst I sat with an open kitchen door.

That must feel good to know everyone is looking out for each other.

Although I’m going out for a walk each day my son does my shopping. He always brings me a treat and weather permitting we have a drink together. He sits in my little courtyard with a beer which he brings with him, and I sit in my conservatory with a glass of wine. We chat through the open high window . There’s lots to talk about! x

Sounds like you have a lovely caring son there and what a good idea to sit (although not physically together) and have a drink and a chat. So important to talk each day and still have that communication with another.

We have a good chemist here and they will bring anything we need from their shop.............. Hubby is doing the shopping at the moment and only going out when he needs to. We do have Martin from the little shop and if we have to isolate completely he will deliver, but as long as hubby is able to get there he will as Martin is very busy with deliveries.xxxx
