Ah here you are! Your now grounded for a week Wishbone. You went AWOL and left us worried. 🥰

wishbone profile image
wishbone in reply to Shalf

Haha, does that mean I'll have to do an extra week when my self isolation eventually ends? :-)

Shalf profile image
Shalf in reply to wishbone

An extra week! Also you must clock in and out because you ARE missed when you go AWOL.🤣

Go easy on me Suzie please, I'm just a fragile little chap and I promise not to go AWOL again.....honest! :-O

It was Nessa who raised the concern, very thoughtful of her x

Very thoughtful of Nessa and I did thank her in my reply. I may be a rough tough Welshman, but these things don't go unoticed. :-) Surprised you chimed in though Suzie! :-O Nah, just kidding I guessed you had a soft spot for me!...Haha I jest again of course!...... :-)

Sorry for the delay, I meant to reply soon after my daft "Hello" post but my laptop froze, which has been happening almost on a daily basis this past week or so....plus I'm slow typing.

Anyway, thanks for asking Nessa. I'm doing ok. No symptoms for the past two days so am hoping I caught the UTI early and the antibiotics will clear it...I have about 2 days left. RA is beginning to get worse so I need to get back on baricitinib pretty soon. It's good that baricitinib leaves the body in a couple of days if someone picks up an infection, but the downside is that my RA starts to flare quicker too. The same happened the last time I stopped taking it.

Glad you’re on the mend . TTFN 🌷

Nice to know you are ok, I hope your able to get back onto your medication quickly before the RA gets any worse. 😁

wishbone profile image
wishbone in reply to Stowe

Thanks Stowe, the problem I've had with past UTIs is repeated courses of antibiotics would only subdue the infection, that's if they worked at all, then a couple of days later it would flare up again. That said, I was going through a prolonged rough patch back then and recovering from a couple of serious infections among other health issues. Can't recall trying this particular antibiotic before either so here's hoping.........................

Pippy25 profile image

Keeping our fingers crossed for you wishbone that these antibiotics do the trick.

I really hope that these Antibiotics start working for you, it is awful whe your not feeling well, especially with all this going on. Keep safe.

wishbone profile image
wishbone in reply to Stowe

Thanks Stowe, I'm not feeling too bad and will be going back on baricitinb tomorrow, which starts to work within a few days, at least that's been the case every time I've stopped taking in the past.

You keep safe too.

Good to hear you are going to be back on your Baricitinib. Have you received a letter yet from your rheumy or GP? Nothing for me as yet. Be good! 😁

We all need to speak what’s on our minds and hear sense and be helped when we can’t find it ourselves at times.

I spoke to him on another thread to check if he was behaving! 🤪 Not entirely sure about that one 😆 but glad to know he’s feeling better. x

wishbone in reply to Neonkittie17

You did indeed. Think I mentioned that I'm improving. I'm a good boy too so don't you be so cheeky. :-)

Neonkittie17 profile image
Neonkittie17 in reply to wishbone

Yes and I’m very glad to hear that as you don’t want to be too long without your RA med. Hope you can be back on that very soon. Been watching The Avengers box set this evening and I’ve been bad and had one of Mr Kitty’s Toffee Crisps! 😸

wishbone profile image
wishbone in reply to Neonkittie17

Naughty! Is that the Marvel Avengers film box set or the 60s TV series with the gorgeous Emma Peel?

Neonkittie17 profile image
Neonkittie17 in reply to wishbone

It is indeed the box set with gorgeous Emma Peel and handsome John Steed. My auntie’s husband danced with Diana Rigg at the Mecca ballroom in Leeds before they met many years ago in the late 50s. (DR is a Yorkshire girl from Doncaster! Auntie is a Yorkshire girl from Leeds .. also was leggy, tall and brunette!)

Neonkittie17 profile image

Neonkittie17 profile image

Well she would be perfectly entitled to burn your trousers if you ever decided to take leave of your senses and do that! 🤣 Hopefully whilst you weren’t in them though! 😆

I had a wobble the other week when my GP told me straight that I must not go out and not for the short term, it really hit home then. Still no letter but I take my GP's advice seriously. The only thing is to live in the moment and try not to think to far ahead. I only listen to the news once a day for an update and try to blot out the scaremongering and speculation. It's lovely that we are all here supporting each other, so take care and sending my best wishes to you x

Hugs to you Nessa and to you all. We need to be kind to ourselves as well as each other. Do something nice that makes you happy .. if that’s reading or sewing or writing or reading or in my case, art. x

wishbone in reply to Jean--

I was really stressed for a while, which could be how I got this UTI after 3 + years without one. Getting into a routine taking precautions has given me a sense of control, and not watching the news as much as I was has also helped.

Neonkittie17 profile image
Neonkittie17 in reply to wishbone

I hear the news a few times a day but won’t look or listen all the time. You can catch up a couple of times for vital and useful info, but you must do something relaxing if you can.

Neonkittie17 profile image

Hugs to you. Yes it’s awful when you feel like you’re yo-yoing between calm and crazy. x
