I haven’t received an official letter yet, I will ring gp Monday.

I fall into the yellow box on the flow chart xx

According to this flow chart I'm in the shielding group, according to the flow chart that's on the Nras website I'm in the moderate risk group (this is from The British Society for Rheumatology), that says I have to self isolate or maintain social distancing at my discretion, so confusing.

Instructions for shielding, even if you carry them out as suggested, your still touching door handles, opening cupboards, touch light switches, opening the fridge, putting plugs in sockets, touching furniture etc etc that someone else in your home touched, the list is endless!

It is confusing, and it also depends on individual characteristics too. So err on aide of caution where you can.

That’s so useful thank you. I haven’t had the letter but following the flowchart I’m in the shielding group - eek! I’ll email my Rheumy tomorrow to double check. My husband is an essential worker so he’s still out there everyday, maybe I should make him sleep in the garage from now on!!!!

If you are in the strict social group will we get a letter, I work as a qualified nurse at a busy hospital, I am having a hard time from our managers at work as our department is closing because of covid-19. Whatever Occupational health agreed with me in the past is now ignored, I am really scared.

That's useful, thanks.

But I'm still confused, as the advice seems to vary from one set of criteria to another.

I'll go on keeping my distance and washing my hands (and putting on the cream so that they don't get sore).

Flow chart informative, thankyou. I was expected to work, I was told that I had all the gloves needed for cleaning NHS office block where nurses and doctors work. The manageress of the building didn't agree and told me to phone my rhumatologist, so far no letter from gp but the rhumatologist nurse said to self isolate as I was a high risk as I am on adalimumab (Amjevita) and methotrexate. She is sending a letter.

Hi everyone, I’m pleased my post is helping,

I’ve been so confused as I couldn’t work out if I fell into the high risk group.

The flow chart has helped me work things out, just need my letter now.
