Yea, the TV footage does show them standing/sitting close to each other, not practising what they preach.

But, it highlights how no one is above and beyond getting it.

Totally. Never a fan but I have to give credit to the supports they’ve put in over the past days - I really fear those who will need to stand in for them, if needed!

I couldn't believe it when they showed all the front bench sitting very close together. I wonder how many people saw that and thought it proved that keeping your distance is not really important. There's an old saying that, "An ounce of example is worth a ton of precept". You'd think with their public school education they would know it.

All the same, I hope they recover well.

I've been shouting at the TV for weeks for people who should know better to abide by guidelines. But , hey there are a lot of people who think they are special and the rules don't apply.

They have no fear of not getting medical attention. In NYC you have to be near death's door to even get admitted because they are so overwhelmed. These officials will not have to be at death's door to get medical attention of any kind.

But remember most people get it mildly, they may not fall at all.

For some unknown reason the "elites" celebrities and politicians seem to do a lot better once stricken. It's not that way with the others. Even healthy 20yo are can windup in ICUs. Plaquenil is not working for everyone either.

Nearly 1000 deaths in Italy over the last 24 hours. Horrific and absolutely heart breaking. It terrifies me, what may be ahead

Both heartbreaking and frightening. Which for anyone over here who thinks 'I'm alright Jack' and is not taking this seriously...please think again if not for you, for your loved ones and for us all. No second chances for some this is happening here and now.

Hi

at least they are getting tested, many are not like the front line staff.

In Scotland, testing is now filtering through to NHS staff. My niece is a charge nurse in DCN and testing is available if they or a family member is showing symptoms - within the first 72 hours of being symptomatic. Any move towards this is a start - albeit way, way too alow

I believe the CMO is self-isolating because he has symptoms, but I have not seen any report that he has been tested, unlike Boris and Matt Hancock, who have definitely been tested because they are "senior figures, key to the national effort". This is the rule laid own by the CMO and it's good that he appears to have stuck to it in his own case.

Putting politics aside, I hope all three will recover quickly.

First they were in denial and continued to shake hands mumbling nothing would stop them then they didn’t abide by the rules set out now the consequences.... they are in a better position than the rest of the uk no nightingale hospital for them. Their own doctors... By the way where will they get the staff for these supersized hospital ?? there were staff shortages long before this.. i wouldn’t wish this on anyone but hopefully they get a mild dose
