That's right and for those who ignore you take away others right to life. Harsh it may sound but the reality is there. Life is so precious. Thanks for posting, take care x

People do seem to be finally listening, many no doubt because the pubs and most shops etc have closed. From what I can gather there's still too many going out unnecesarily.

Exactly so, they will regret their actions when their loved ones become seriously ill or worse... reality will hit, I hope it is not too late

I still think that firmer steps should have been taken much earlier.

Asda I think it was on the news last night, finally appear to taking proper steps to stop panic buying. The footage showed shoppers patiently queing a safe distance apart outside the store until a burly security guard called the next customer in. I posted more than once saying supermarkets should be employing adequate security to sort out these sociopathic shoppers. It should have been done well before now but better late than never.

Reality always hits home sadly to say with these people when it's their loved ones who are affected. I agree with wishbone that they should have had more security hired earlier, as last week when I went to a local shop for the final time, I had rung prior to going and explained my situation and was told not to worry there was a dedicated time I could go and that some milk would be kept for me which they kindly did and I was grateful for but on arrival there was no one on the door and the world and their dog was in there! Two young girls on the till overwhelmed and a young lad who handed me the milk and then could be seen trying to put milk out which was soon gone and the rest was left to fend for itself. If security had of been there it would have helped I'm sure to put a stop to these shopaholics/ stockpilers sooner and the dedicated hour would have been just that. A neighbour has just shouted across that things seem a little calmer this week, so I really hope the message is getting through. Take care

That's pathetic Pippy! In complete contrast our village, the Asian Spar has a sign on the door saying....."Polite notice, Only one person in the shop at one time. Thank you."

Another Asian shop has a sign with the following message...."Only 5 customers in store at one time and please keep 2 metres apart. Try to limit visits to once a day for the safety of yourself and others, and make payments by card if possible."

Never had I felt so vulnerable on buying a two pints of milk as I did last week. I was clad in rubber gloves etc and felt like an alien in amongst a gathering of greedy shoppers. Anyway that's me out of the picture for shopping now. I've managed to get in touch with a local delivery firm and have explained that I've got enough to tide me over for a few weeks as I don't want to be greedy, but may need their help then. So fingers crossed. Oh I looked up that spray you mentioned in another post that my dad used to use on for cleaning his records and it said in the bottle it's eco friendly and has anti bacterial properties.

I bet you felt vunerable but at least you're stocked up for a while. The problem's more with buying stuff that won't keep such as milk that you went in the shop for. Do you have any neighbours who could pick some up for you when they go to the shop?

Thanks wishbone, it was a stressful experience. I'm hoping this local delivery service can bring me milk and a few fresh veg in a week or so. I've got some long life and a tin of marvel (my mum used to call it emergency milk and never was there a time to put it into use!) I'm using my fresh stuff first and any veg that is left I'm making into soups before it goes off, any milk that may be ready to expire I will make a cheese sauce to freeze. I'm thinking around utilising foods to still be able to eat them and not waste anything before it goes off or out of date. I've always done this, but it is more so now as I can't just pop to the shops. It's just juggling food and thinking about my meals each day. Hope you and your wife are managing ok?

Good to know that you're an old hand at utilising food etc. We always have a tin of Marvel stashed away in case we run out of milk. It's fine for tea and coffee and at a push - Cornflakes. :-)

We are doing ok thanks. My daughter has an online shopping slot booked with Asda on friday so we've been compiling a list of what we need for her. Other than that it's just a matter of which one of us goes stir crazy first! :-O ........................................................................ :-)

Take care Pippy

I ve been mainly indoors for over a week. Most people are... but we do need some fresh air at times.

I went Mark's yesterday and it was reassuring to see that panic buying is over. I felt a bit daft in my face mask, but cracked on and got some vegetables. At least it's nice and sunny. I would cut the grass, but dont want to end up hot and bothered and getting a chill, so plenty of reading and Netflix for me.

What is your point the government have put over 1.5 million under house arrest. I'm one but down to CKD not just the RA and I'm sure that the volunteers who will help us are not taking that advice. And so I'm puzzled what are saying?
