Yes hospitals are trying this all over the world. We just have to wait to see what the conclusion is.
I have written and asked them as I am on tocilizumab. My rheumy has said to hold off bloodwork and infusion for a while. My infusion is already 2 weeks overdue. Wondering if I should hold out 2 more weeks.
But do you have Covid-19?
Well the advice we are getting here is to continue with meds as being in a flare increases your risks.
I have a phone appt with my rheumy in this week, I will ask again.
Makes sense as a flare would be very horrible right now.
Had phone appt on Tuesday, rheumy said my blood work has looked great for the 4 months and he has suggested I take 2 months off to see what happens. I am also told, being on tocilizumab makes me really high risk for covid19. Then again, he also said since I have been on it for 3 years now, if I should catch covid19, my lung function should be protected since it takes quite a long time for the toci to get out of my system.
Also strongly advised against going to the lab for bloodwork this month as I am sure to get sick if I go.
Least I know the pharmacy has my toci in the fridge and if I find I need it, can get the Infusion within a couple days.
Hope all is well where you are.
We are up to almost 700 cases in BC Canada. And only 14 deaths since Feb 28.
