Family rules based on the news.........

We have had a family conflab on FB messenger and it was a very orderly one so we agreed as a family.

1. Mum and Alan priority as he has COPD and they agreed they want to do self isolate as Alan been rough all year with his lungs and he is worried. So to reduce worry he wants to self isolate. We have set up a shopping delivery service and if Mum gets stumped we take over but she loves to shop (yes humour still here).

2. We noted as a family lungs are OUR thing so brother in law with asthama and 72 being careful and my sister working from home for next 2weeks rather than flying the globe on conferences. She gets lots of chest colds.

3. I have hospital today for CT thorax then back at work but work have agreed I either work in an office on my own or from home if things get worse.

4. We have NOT and will NOT panic buy loo roll! This was a mutal decision with lots of family wit flying off this one.

5. We cancelled the family Mothers Day gathering and delayed till May.

6. My other sister and niece said it was lovely to be on the back burner for once as their bi polar normally is the family crisis, so they were HIGH 5 'ing' each other which again caused much laughter over FB.

I decided at the end of the conflab my family have a sick sense of humour BUT we are there if needed and all agreed to make sure Mum and Alan are OK whatever is needed.

Bloody well done! A sensible, measured approach - all whilst maintaining the humour that makes you, you.

We have had similar conversations and pretty much, I’m the only concern. Equally, I’m where everyone gathers so everyone being careful and mindful of hand washing etc. As I’ve just had my ankle replaced, I’m in house for 8 weeks anyway, so a kind of imposed self isolation.

I just think we all should Lee acknowledge it’s a challenge, take sensible steps to ensure we do what we can to take care of ourselves and actually, get in with the business of living x

What a great attitude from the whole family. Obviously lots of love and humour there! Fantastic to hear.

Good on you very calm no hysterics. Humour is a must in life. My family find humour in any situation. When my mother was dying we were all gathered around the bed . We thought she was in a coma as she hadn’t woken for 12 hours and breathing very laboured.my father has a habit of reading the paper aloud it drove my mum insane.Dad started to read the paper aloud my mother opened her eyes ( she had no voice due to cancer and my dad never learnt to lip read) she looked at me and my sisters and said “he will bloody well will finish me off” with a wink 5 minutes later dad still reading out aloud and mum took her last breath and we burst out laughing and said he finished her off. 😂😂Dad still doesn’t know 😂😂
