Hi all! Just wondering if I can take my metoject with me if I’m travelling hand luggage only? Thank you for this wonderful group ... Your posts have really help me come to terms with my RA diagnosis which was 6 months ago and I’m still learning the ropes !

I take mine in hand luggage cos the pre filled pens can't go in the hold as it'll freeze them.

My GP give me a letter also the RA dept provide a small card explaining I use this medication. Have a good one (Y)

Yes. Keep them in their original packaging, and then you can put the used pen back in to bring them home. You should take some paperwork with you - a prescription or a letter from the supplier or your GP. They can go through the scanning machines just fine ( some of the standard letters say they can’t but I checked with manufacturers and they say they can). I’ve travelled a lot over last 10 years with no problems.

If you are going somewhere hot take an insulated pouch to help keep at at even temperature.

Enjoy!

Yes great advice all round . I am fortunate the RA nurse at Rheumatology dept gives me travelling sharps bins to put my used pens in.

ALWAYS keep all meds in your cabin bag...the aircraft hold can get too cold for liquid meds.......plus if your suit case should go off for its own little vacation ......any meds in it.....go with it!

What a carry on! I guess it depends on the individuals at the airport .. some use common sense and some jobs worth making things difficult.

No....This time it’s not jobsworths-we all want what goes on that aeroplane we are flying on to be safe. I don’t mind how long I stand in security having them check as long as there’s nothing dangerous gets on!
