Thank you for your reply. But I haven’t had any major pain in my elbow. Hopefully mine will go away. I’m feeling really down since my GP told me that 😔

Check with your clinic nurse or rheumatologist they may be more helpful

It does to me. The elbows are a normal external place to get them & they don't always have to be painful. Have google Rheumatoid nodule elbow & select images.

But mine has been painful on and off. And become red (inflamed). And if I leaned on that arm it hurts. Will it go away or it will just get bigger? 😔

Maybe this will answer your questions nras.org.uk/rheumatoid-nodules Any further & they'd be best taken up with your Rheumy, see what his/her thoughts are.

Yes, looks like a RA nodule. I have them on my feet & 1 in lungs. Awful looking.

I read their are usually associated with more aggressive RA; ugh.

I’m so sorry you also got it. What symptoms did you have for them to know you got nodule in your lungs?

Rheum requested a routine chest X-ray before prescribing mtx, when I was diagnosed with RA. He saw the nodule on the X-ray. I had no lung symptoms at the time.

What are the symptoms of a nodule in the lungs please? I have had a light dry cough for a few weeks now. Thank you

Always best to get a persistent cough checked out by your GP.

Nodules can be seen on chest X-ray.

I read the same about nodules and aggresive RA. Also nodules are supposed to be more common with seropositive RA. I qualify on both counts! :-(

I had a fairly big one on my elbow for several years before it gradually decreased in size and disappeared. It was not painful, but out of curiosity I once asked my rheumy about having it removed...she replied that it was best left alone if it was not troubling me. She also said nodules can be slow to heal if removed. I have a couple of small nodules here and there, including one in my lung, which was monitored for a year or so but is not a cause for concern.

Hi, I had a module on my elbow for 5 years....it got as big as a tennis ball before it popped two years ago...it did get red at first but otherwise no discomfort..it popped inside my arm and was treated with antibiotics..just recently, I noticed 2 small ones returning ...no flares!!!!

Two small ones appeared on the palm of my right hand about 6 months ago - not painful and disappeared as suddenly as they came (about a month ago).

Thank you ladies for the reassurance. I will just monitor it for the time being. But my GP has prescribed some antibiotics due it’s a bit tender at the moment.

I have a persistent one on my left knuckle. I’ve had it drained, it came back, knocked I it and I was able to squeeze the Synovial fluid out ‘sorry’ it came back. I had it removed last year, it’s back. I’ve had them over the years and they’ve gone on their own, not this one. I also have one on my lung and 5th rib internally. My liver has many cysts, all deemed okay. X

Yes it does. I have them. Balls of feet, both elbows and occasionally find the odd small one not near a joint. They flare and reduce on and off. Had an op to remove about 15 from my left elbow and one attached to the bone on my forearm. Elbow ones didn’t come back. The one on my forearm is up and down. Balls of feet they are very reluctant to operate. Fear of infection. Takes a long time to heal. I just remembered that I had one on my knee. It’s not there now 😂. I doubt it’s going to hurt you. Mine get warm and inflamed and go down after a day or three. You will know if it’s a problem but I think it’s uncommon. Think of it as a lumpy beauty spot which adds character to your already interesting personality. X
