contraceptives: hey what type of contraceptives is... - NRAS
contraceptives
I’m not aware that biologics affect contraception. I’m on the depo provera 3 monthly injections. 🙂
Never heard of biologicals affecting contraception. I've been on Humira , been swapped to Imraldi now. Have used combined pill and mini pill over the years.
If you have worried about interactions or your method of contraception, the best people to ask would be a specialised family planning or sexual health clinic. The staff there can seek specialised advice from their clinical advisers if they don't already know. They can also advise on the range of contraception types available and what would suit you best.
I know that the clinics are under pressure and poorly resourced so you may need to wait for an appointment but they are the experts.
However, there don't seem to be any specific interactions listed - but don't go on worrying, check for yourself. There is a list of interactions for enalapril which has been around for longer (for which benapali is the biosimilar) here:bnf.nice.org.uk/interaction...
