Flare

I am having a big flare, am so tired. I have worked all Christmas, I am a breakfast chef and everything hurts, my hands, arms, fingers, legs back and so flipping tired! Exhausted. At the weekend when it's my days off I sleep for 12 hours straight! And when I come home from work have to go to bed for 3/4 hours and still sleep at night! I am lucky as only work 30 hours a week that I get paid for. I work an extra 5 hours without pay. But it's draining me because it's so phisical on the job. There is no break and am on my feet for 7straight hours every day! I am constantly rushing

I just want to get this flare gone, but its Draging me down.

Thanks for listening

X

Feel for you SO much. You are one brave person xxx well done for managing and of course take time for you at every opportunity xx

Well done !! Working during a flare is a mammoth task and shows strength of character but you could be doing more damage... could you take sick leave? A break could help you get through the flare quicker. Of course there’s no guarantee this disease likes to do its own thing. Wish I could help

That was me Xmas eve worked 8hrs spent that night and Christmas Day in pain. Standing all your work day does not help.

Hi Carol, a flare is your body telling you that you've breached the limits of what it can take. I hope you'll be able to manage it somehow, but maybe you have to speak to your employer and explain your situation. Maybe there is a way they can accommodate you for a brief period at least to give you a chance to recover. You may be able to get some help from the NRAS website/Fatigue or their help line. All the best. I feel for you.

Have you spoken to your employer Carol? Do they know you have RA? NRAS fo some good publications which could help you with work.

Maybe you need to take some time off to help you recover from this flare?
