What is your experience of sulfasalazine and laser treatment?

Hi, I need some advice please. I would like to get laser hair removal and acne scar laser treatment but I don’t know anyone who has had any kind of laser treatment whilst on sulfasalazine. If you have, it would be great to hear if it caused any adverse skin reactions?

I emailed the rheumatology team about this but their response wasn’t conclusive, just that the medication can cause photosensitivity but they can’t comment on the effects of laser treatment.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

In the absence of information from your rheumatology team, perhaps you’d better ask the Laser Treatment team about their experience regarding this issue

If you can’t find a satisfactory answer that you’re comfortable with, then perhaps you might need to re-assess the importance of the laser treatment? Cheers deb
