Hi all, I've been having a sore throat quite consistently the last week or so, just having started Cimzia 3 weeks ago and wonder what the best way to deal with this is. For example, should I rest when I feel this? Is this like a cold coming on? I have to play hockey tonight, but wonder if it's a good idea, if I should just be resting instead. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Sore throat and Cimzia three weeks in-- what to do?
Hi just wondering if you are affected by pollen levels at all as I usually get a really dry tickle throat due to this so don't worry unless I have other symptoms which make me think it is more of an infection. Do you have a rheum team to run these things by at all?
I guess if you are unsure then play safe by easing up a little over the weekend and then get advice Monday so you then know what the medical view is to follow. I know it's hard when you first change onto something to gauge what's normal and not. It may be good to check this out before your next dose is due, as sometimes we are advised to miss a dose if we have an infection.
Hope that helps a little.
Wow! It is amazing that you are able to play hockey! Today's medications are truly transformational.
I know! I'm very thankful. I'm 58 and have been exhausted for years, with no medical reason, even though I've repeatedly gone to my GP about it. I was actually relieved that they finally found a reason for the exhaustion, because I was beginning to think it was all in my head. I play once a week in a beer league.
