You should always tell you rheumy team about a persistant cough. Are you also on MTX?
Yes, I have! Mine is a tickly, gunky cough that seems to build at night ( waking me). I also had very stringy spit when brushing teeth. I eventually went to my GP as I proved it wasn’t season related / related to sleeping environment. I also feel ( slightly) like laboured breathing. GP felt I had inflamed sinuses and gave me a course of steroid nasal spray ( that helped greatly reduce the build up of gunk on my chest after 3 days and the stringy phlegm is a great deal better too). I had a chest X-ray which showed slight pleural thickening plus a shaded costophrenic angle on right side ( not believed to be fluid on lungs) I then had a CT scan 8 weeks later... awaiting results. I would get it checked out if I were you. Best of luck!
Yes, I have a cough which develops around 12hrs after taking beneplai and lasts for a day. I often have a mild sore throat with it too and bouts of violent sneezing. It is sometimes accompanied by a clear, by slightly frothy sputum. I have my biologics review in 13 days from now , and counting.
Hi Patricia,
I've been on benepali on and off for 18 months. It does wonders for my ra but I do get sinus headaches and am more susceptible to catching all the coughs and colds going round.
I would definately mention any cough to your rheumatologist nurse so it can be checked out.
