My first post on here as I have only just discovered the web site.
I have been diagnosed with RA since 2014 and have reduced the methotrexate injections from 30mg down to 10 mg over the past couple of years with no significant adverse effect. I'm due my annual review next week and at the last one they said I might be able to come off methotrexate all together as I was in remission. Does anyone have experience of doing this as I am worried it might flare up again but coming off Mtx would be a great relief as I do feel nauseous for a couple of days after. I have researched instances hence finding this site and results are split between good and bad.
I do take hydroxy and folic as normal

I have been on mtx a long long time and even when I've had to miss a few doses because I've had an infection I've experienced more pain. It's great you are in remission. No one knows if you will flare if you stop the drug but if you think you can do without it give it a go.
