I was getting sick and tired at my hair thinning and shedding so much, that someone recommended mane and tail shampoo and conditioner! Yes it was originally a shampoo for horses but it’s fit for human use also it states on the bottles and I haven’t looked back since! It’s a good product! I have baby bits of new hair growing and people have commented on how shiny my hair looks and I haven’t had the urge to trot off eat carrots or crave hay! Win win! Sainsbury’s sell it Superdrug boots and amazon. Amazon seems to be the best price at mo £9.25 for both.
Hair loss.... have no fear!! : I was getting sick and... - NRAS
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but these shampoos are very high in toxicity. Especially for cancer and immune toxicity. I share your frustration with thinnning hair but I am personally concerned with the potential risks. Check out the ewg review at ewg.org
Of course it’s a choice we all have to make. I just know for me, I can only bring myself to put so many chemicals on or in my already sick body.
Oh I agree which is why when I can, I look for the best I can to nourish and care for my body. I’m not scared about everything but I just want to feel the best I possibly can and that for me means being proactive and making good choices for myself. Still I think it’s good to consider carefully what we put on or in our bodies. We are already fighting a terrible illness. And we all need to choose for ourselves what is good and what is not.
Anything with the fragrance or perfume on the label is also very toxic for cancer and immuno toxicity.
Personally many fragrances and household cleaners drive me mad and create runny itchy yes, stuffed up and/or runny nose, mild wheeze from some and I can taste it for hours afterwards. It can be a problem if someone sitting near me is wearing perfume, or sprays deodorant in changing rooms.
Spraying perfume is a big problem for me in ladies toilets, no thought for others who don't want perfume over them, the air can be left polluted with these contaminants for a good while afterwards. I had to give up going to a regular quiz night as the perfume in the room was pervasive. It is difficult to avoid many 'toxic' products, I don't believe this one is much different from many other products.
I've been sensitive to lots of smelly products all my life, perfumes, soaps etc in particular. But it is getting worse and can be problematic when I'm in company. I just can't sit beside some people with smelly stuff on ! My IgE is very high 760, suggestive of asthma amongst other things, but I'm not asthmatic ! I don't show any markers for RA , but have it.
Noticed this product in Sainsbury's this morning. I don't have any problems with my hair but may just try it, I'm due a change. I do find changing my shampoo now & again makes a difference, your hair gets used to the ingredients I'm sure as when I change my hair has more bounce when I do. I avoid any with silicones as advised by previous hairdresser, this doesn't have any but see it does have olive oil which my grandma in law swore by years ago.
I've started using Klorane B6 & Quinine shampoo and conditioner for thining hair, seems nice. Got from an online beauty site (cheaper than Amazon)
Once a week I put an olive oil, honey and apple cider vinegar mask on my hair just mix up the ingredients together leave it on for an hour and wash off as normal best hair defrizzer and conditioner you’ll ever have totally natural cheap and works a treat. My hair grows faster too. A raw egg with honey and some oil works well too but I’ve an allergy to egg so can’t use that. Also if the water is too hot washing the egg off it will scramble (not a good look). Leaves your hair super shiny easy to style and helps to nourish the scalp too so good for thinning hair.
I have had trouble with thinning hair, but have had to come off Methotrexate due to recurring infections, the difference in my hair since I have been off this drug is amazing, I have been on MXT injections for three years and tablets for two years before that. Will have to go back on it if the Rheumatoid gets any worse, there is always a down side.
