Hi

After some info from others on here that are on Ritux. I've just started my treatment (2 infusions 2 weeks apart) and am now playing the waiting game to see if it helps. I was wondering how long others have had to wait until they started to notice it working. I've been told it could be 8-10 weeks.

Since I've come off benepali and regular steroids, I've been experiencing the worst pain since being diagnosed 2 years ago. Pain and stiffness in new places as well, the knees and thumbs being my current source of frustration.

Anyway, i know i need to bear with it for now, just hoping i see some improvement sooner rather than later.

Thanks

Rob

If you put rituximab into the search bar you will find lots of recent similar posts come up. Here’s hoping it works for you 🤞🏻

No advice to stay in from the docs/nurses. I'm still on mtx as i understand they can work well in combination.

It was 8 weeks for me but I had gone very, very downwhill indeed before I started it.

It took a good 3/4 months before I felt any benefit...but the wait was well worth it.

Try to give it a really good try.

Thanks all. I'm definitely going to give it a chance, feeling positive about it. Just need to fast forward 2 months 🙃

I’ve been on it for four years. I was told it could take up to four months to work. I was seriously ill with my RA at the time and it took three cycles and 18 months before it worked. If I’d have been told this beforehand, I can’t say what I’d have done. But looking back, you do just get through stuff and I’m so glad for it!

I’m not making light of anything - my RA was so bad that I had to have two lots of surgery within 12 months! But Rituximab has been very good for me. Good luck!

8 weeks in and I've had to be put on another course of steroids to bridge the gap. No sign of Rituximab doing its thing just yet.

Unfortunately, after coming off the benepali I've probably experienced the worst problems to date since being diagnosed. Lots of swelling in hands and knees, also have a couple of slightly wonky fingers now. Fingers crossed (no pun intended) something improves and the ritux kicks in.
