In mice......

I have high hopes for the future for people with RA, but these animal studies are very early stage so I imagine 15 years or more before it translates to something we can use.

15 years?? Does it take that long?

I think the first stage of development of biologics was in the mid-1980’s, and Enbrel was finally prescribed to people in 1998....so some 13 + years. Clinical trials alone can take 7 years.

I guess this is for safety purpose hence to ensure minimum side effects on human.

And to check they work! Only a proportion of drugs get through the clinical trial stage.

Hi Amy_Lee what an amazing article that pin points at a molecular level what is happening in the cells of us RA people. Could not follow every detail. They are certainly getting close to unravelling RA which then leads to cures, Lets hope it is soon. Thanks for posting this article.

I really hope RA can be cured one day soon during our life time. In fact, I posted here as I like to keep and share the information.

Really interesting article. I didn’t know which bit of the white bloods cells goes rogue. It helped me understand the disease more. Thanks for posting.

Agree with you that it does help me to understand the disease a bit more but I cannot understand the whole lot. Hahahaha.... I guess I am not knowledgeable enough to understand it.

Thanks for this, a really interesting article that will hopefully translate into medication for RD. A long way to go before human meds become available, but interesting stuff.

Dear Amy_Lee,

A VERY interesting 'Post', I'm 'Borderline' for RA- some Results say 'Yes', others 'No'. I haven't had an 'attack', of RA, for while....Now I have Gout, honestly true!

Good news though, even if it takes 'A While'.

I had both RA factor and anti-CCP negative but I had all the symptoms of RA.

I would rather to listen to the research and hoping to see better treatment in future for all of us.
