Hello everyone,

Isn’t it nice now that the evenings are getting lighter and the weather is warming up! I even managed to do some gardening on Sunday!

Here at NRAS our Events programme is getting very busy. This year we have five people taking part in the London Marathon for us. If you have been lucky enough to get a place and haven’t chosen a charity to run for why not run for NRAS? We would love you to wear one of our running vests on the day, helping us to raise awareness of the charity whilst at the same time raising essential funds. Please do get in touch if you might like to do this.

We have two remaining places for this year’s iconic Great North Run, last year’s event saw over 54,000 entries. Our team of 25 includes Ailsa, our Chief Executive, who will be taking part in her wheelchair with a team of ‘pushers’ to help her complete the course. This is the world’s most popular half marathon and should not be missed. If you are a keen runner do get in touch and join ‘Team 10 NRAS’ on the 18th September. If you are feeling really strong you might like to take part in our ‘Marathon in a Month’ challenge by running the Great North Run on the 18th September and the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on the 9th October – go on and take the challenge! We also have a few places remaining in the Great South Run on the 30th October. For more information please click on the following link.

One of our most popular challenges continues to be the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Would you like to take on the challenge of walking the three highest peaks in Yorkshire in under 12 hours and raise funds for NRAS? The challenge takes place on the 3rd September and begins by climbing Pen-y-ghent, then continues onto Whernside and finally finishing with Ingleborough. This challenge can be taken on as an individual or as a team – why not get some friends/work colleagues together and enter a team? Finally don’t forget our celebration lunch on the 30th June at Warwickshire Golf and Country Club, Leek Wootton. We would love to see you there to help us to celebrate our achievements and say thank you to you for all your support during this time. Please click on the following link for further information on our lunch. nras.org.uk/support_us/10th...

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you would like to discuss any of the above challenges/events or if you are considering holding your own event in aid of NRAS. I can be contacted on 01628 501547 or by email at val@nras.org.uk.

Fingers crossed for a lovely summer!
