Hi - I have just came to UK from India. Got RA and HLAB27 in my blood as per blood test report. Having morning stiffness and back pain. Need some doctor consultation.

Previously I used to take SAZO 1000 for this disease but it came rising again.

Could you please help.

Thanks

Hi, are you just here for a holiday or are you living here permanently? If you give us some more information we might be able to point you in the right direction 😊

Thank you for your reply. I am here for a deputation work for 2 years visa. Visited doctor in my country but wanted to check here if I get some better treatment.

Just to inform you the diseases are in my heredity as my mother is also suffering from Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Need to get rid of this ☹️

I would assume you need to register with a GP if you haven’t already and go from there. Sadly RA can’t be got rid of but treatment could help with the progress and symptoms of the disease but it can take some time to find the right combination of meds. Good luck

You need to find a general practioner's surgery near to where you live. Should be easy to find one on the internet. Then fill in this form, and take it to the surgery amd ask to be registered.

Whether or not you are entitled to free medical care depends on what type of visa you have. But the surgery should explain that to you.

Thank you for your reply. I have started NHS registration. Will it be possible to consult with a RA specialist here?

I am having tier 2 ICT visa.

Did you pay the healthcare surcharge as part of your visa application? If you have this then you shouldn't have to pay any extra.

In the UK it is the GP that will refer you to a specialist. Unfortunately there is a long waiting list so it can take many months. But the GP should be able to offer you pain relief.
