Hi everyone just wondered if a fall can bring on RA flare up ?

I fell over a toy scooter at work and have soft tissue damage to my elbow and shoulder . In agony but my knuckles and other joints have started to swell . Wondered if this is due to fall or flare

Thanks

Stress is known to trigger inflammation. Both physical and psycholgical. Biochemicly it means a strain on the already dysfunctional immunesystem. So may very well have a triggering effect (?)

Definitely a strong possibility. It’s how mine started! Trust your instincts. You already worked it out. Maybe take some ibuprofen if you tolerate it well just to get you through and help reduce the inflammation.

I find when I’ve injured myself or even if I have a bad upset stomach that it can have a cascading effect with my RA I doubt very much that it’s stress related but if I do something daft my RA will flare as a result luckily it’s usually only for about a week and not a full blown flare but yes I think an injury can set off more intense RA symptoms just hope it doesn’t last very long I’m sure you’ll plough through it as I try to do.
